Salisbury Cathedral Stained Glass - website and image galleries

Designer: Open Air Design

Brief: To build a showcase website for the Stained Glass department at Salisbury Cathedral. The website needed to get across all aspects of the work undertaken by this thriving department including the conservation and restoration of stained glass of all periods. Salisbury Cathedral Stained Glass provide a comprehensive service for Cathedrals, Churches, Architects, Conservation Bodies, and Private Customers in several counties as well as the Cathedral at Salisbury itself.

This website has pages and dynamic galleries of all aspects of their work and makes great use of the many photographs and images they have collected over the years, including a complete section on the making of a stained glass window from start to finish.

The Studio Partner - website and image management system

Designer: Open Air Design

Brief: To create a website, image and invoice management system for a high profile image sourcing agency. The Studio Partner source and manage the purchasing, rights management and usage of images for prestigious London design agencies. The website needed to be a showcase for the company and incorporates a dynamic projects gallery showing the images sourced and their eventual commercial usage.

The site also has a client area in which images can be uploaded in various sizes to lightboxes for the client to view. Images can be requested, purchased and dowloaded through the site by the incorporation of a neat image management and invoicing system.

Arts 4 Evry1 - TV series and website

Designer: in-house team

Brief: To create a television show for Southampton TV highlighting and showcasing the work of local artists and Arts organisations in the area. The television series was part funded by Southampton TV and part funded by Screen South - part of the UK Film Council. As the show's main aim was to get local people involved with the Arts it was augmented by a database driven website of all of the Arts Organisations in the area - not only those that were featured on the show.

The website was funded by The Arts Council and was branded in the same design and colours from the show. At one time the entire series was also video streamed from the website.

Go Morzine - ski website

Designer: Open Air Design

Brief: To create a website for a thriving ski chalet rental company based in the Alps. Block and Ball Solutions provided the programming elements to Open Air's fresh design. This site has a summer / winter toggle providing a tailored experience depending on which time of year the user wishes to view the resorts.

Minimising costs but maximising ease of use, this site incorporates a simple but very effective content distribution system enabling prices and other elements to be amended by the client once and allowing the changes to be seen on both the winter and summer sides of the site. Very much designed to be a window into the beautiful scenery of this ski resort, the website includes galleries of photographs on both sides of the site.

Drummond Flooring - Floorquote system

Designer: in-house team

Brief: To create a web-based project management system for a thriving Surrey based flooring contractor. Drummond Flooring's sales team, clients and installation teams are all able to log into the system to retrieve project costs and other relevant information throughout the lifecycle of the project. This system was also designed to handle Health and Safety information on any products ordered.

Drummond Flooring estimate that this comprehensive system makes their day to day job management ten times faster than their previous 'spreadsheet and email attachment' methodology - a major return on investment!

Information Skills Trainer

Designer: in-house web team and illustrator

Brief: To create a graphics based application for college libraries to teach students the 'hows', 'whys' and 'wheres' of bibliography and reference writing. It also comprises a colourful design and over 200 illustrations to keep students' interest and convey its message. Requiring no plugins or anyother technical 'hoops' this is a truly universal multimedia application.

The most challenging aspect of this project was to turn pages of 'dry' academic prose into an eye-catching and easy to use application that students would return to again and again. This neat aide memoire for students is now used by hundreds of thousands of FE students around the UK and Ireland.

RH Specialist cars (car showroom website)

Designer: BZ Marketing & Design

Brief: To create a website and virtual showroom to BZ Marketing's classic design - on a very tight budget!

This neat little website is only three pages on the front end - but it is fed by a small, custom written content management system that allows the client to upload several images of each car, along with the relevant price and descriptive information. The website builds this into a real time virtual showroom with a details page for each car.

One of several showroom based websites we have built, this simple but effective website delivers very powerful functionality - for a very reasonable price!

Perfect Living London (letting agent website):

Brief: To create a website and Letting Agent window to a London Based start up company - also on a very tight budget! This website incorporates a language toggle so the content can be viewed in either English or Polish.

The custom written content management system allows the client to upload several images of each property, along with the relevant area, price and descriptive information. The website builds this into a real time virtual Letting Agency with full search functionality and a details page for every property. Another nice feature of this site was the 'more information' button on each property which records all the search criteria the user entered and emails them to the website administrator! Very powerful functionality - very reasonable price!

Routesmart (website):

Brief: To create one of several microsites for Integrated Skills' products and offerings. The design brief was key to the success of this website; the site had to have a unique product appeal but fit within a corporate branded style. Simple but effective Search Engine Optimised (SEO) programming over complex management systems was the priority for these projects.

Although in this instance a small part of a larger corporate website, this five page site is a great example of an inexpensive calling card site ideal for a start up on a tight budget as there is no management system involved.

Integrated Skills (website):

Factory Road Studios (website):

Brief: To create a friendly and eye-catching website for a Southampton based recording studio.

The main look and feel that Factory Road Studios wanted to convey in this site was the warm, friedly and relaxed atmosphere of the studio and live room itself. In order to achieve this, we took extensive photographs around the premesis and formed most of these into a dynamic gallery.

The site includes a simple content management system allowing Factory Road Studios to update the site with images and content as they wish.
